My 2020 in Books!

I read 30 books this year! (I set a goal of 25 and surpassed it!)

6,506 pages read.

Shortest Book: 26 pages - Hello World! Construction Site by Jill McDonald

Longest Book: 652 pages - My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie

According to Goodreads and users who have shelved these titles:

Most Popular: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon

Least Popular: ABC What Can I Be? by Walter Foster Jr

My average rating: 4.3 stars

My First Review of the Year: The Beach is Loud by Samantha Cotterill

My Last Review of the Year: The Great White Shark Scientist by Sy Montgomery and Keith Ellenbogen

My Top Five Favorites of 2020, in no particular order:

Love Anthony by Lisa Genova

My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie

These Few Precious Days: The Final Year of Jack with Jackie by Christopher Andersen

On The Horizon by Lois Lowry

Five Presidents by Clint Hill and Lisa McCubbin

My 2021 Goals and Resolutions:

  • 25 Books. Since my children are still young, I think I'm going to set the bar low again and hope for the best.

  • Review More! I did not put out as many reviews as I was hoping to. My children are young and when I finally have free time, I don't want to sit and write about the books I read, I just want to read more! But I would like to put in more of an effort into writing reviews, even if they're only a few sentences!

  • Utilize the library more, Buy less. In 2020, I absolutely fell into an impatient, compulsive buying habit. Due to the pandemic, I've been exclusively using the digital everyone else...causing long wait lines. I get impatient and end up buying the book. I'm hoping there's more of a handle on the pandemic in 2021 so I can use the physical library again and not buy, buy, buy.

Here's to another year around the sun! Happy New Year!!
